As part of our ongoing efforts to incorporate sustainable practices into our services and activities, we have made an ethical and positive supplier selection and now joined the prestigious Carbon Capture® scheme.
Recognising the importance of environmental stewardship, Castelli understands the vital role trees play in absorbing carbon emissions and securing a sustainable future. Disturbed by the UK’s low woodland cover of just 13%, compared to the EU average of 37%, Castelli has taken action.
Through the Carbon Capture® scheme Castelli has helped plant an impressive 424,638 trees to date, whilst raising over £1.57m for the esteemed Woodland Trust. These efforts have resulted in the capture of more than 96,000 tons of CO2 through positive purchases of our paper, making a significant impact on mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. Carbon Capture® enables businesses to address CO2 emissions associated with the production, storage, and distribution of purchased products. Castelli actively participates in the scheme by paying a Carbon Capture® charge for each tonne of product, directly supporting woodland conservation and tree planting initiatives facilitated by the Woodland Trust.
By joining the scheme, Castelli offers its customers the opportunity to align with sustainable development goals and contribute to carbon mitigation efforts. Over 35,000 trees have been directly put in the ground across the UK during organised planting days with our paper supplier and the Woodland Trust, and restoration projects continue to protect and restore the UK’s precious ancient woodland, preserving it for future generations.
