Christmas is a time for indulgence and celebration, so it’s far too easy to throw all eco efforts out of the window. This year, we’re challenging our customers and distributor partners to stay eco focused over the festive period. With the climate change crisis at a key point, we think its greatly important to think of the planet as we celebrate.

Here’s some of the key ways we are staying green:

  • Locally Sourced Products

We have carefully set up our supply chain to ensure our raw ingredients are sourced from local producers. Did you know that our eggs come from a farm just 5 miles away from our Lancashire Bakery? By using ingredients close by, we are able to limit the carbon footprint of our products.

When quoting, consider if your other manufacturers have an environmentally friendly supply chain.

  • Buy from eco responsible suppliers

Do you ensure that the products you are quoting are as eco-friendly as possible? Many suppliers have made a positive effort to limit their impact on the environment, with many developing eco packaging and raw materials.

We have been perfecting our eco-friendly solutions for several years, with many developments in terms of packaging and our own eco policies. We’ve developed zero plastic giftbox solutions, along with the use of bio-degradable film for individually wrapped items. We are now able to supply an eco-friendly packaging method for each of its products.

  • Avoid Unnecessary Packaging

Packaging waste is a major issue in the UK, so be sure to order from suppliers who are avoiding the use of unnecessary packaging. Ask your supplier how their products are packaged, and if they have a way to avoid extra packaging be sure to ask for this option.

We ensure not to over pack our products, while keeping them safe for distribution. Even our void fill is now a paper-based solution, meaning that it can be recycled easily.

Will you try to go green this Christmas?
