BIC Graphic Europe have launched a new version of the best-selling BIC Media Clic that is both biodegradable and antibacterial.

The Media Clic Bio BGuard™ is the latest addition to the BGuard™ range. The bio-sourced material is made from sugar cane, and it is the first writing instrument of its kind to combine a biodegradable barrel with antibacterial protection that eliminates 99.9% of bacteria on the barrel, the most exposed part of the pen.

The white barrelled option can also be digitally printed using BIC’s britePix Digital printing technology, allowing a perfect reproduction of photographic artwork.

Ian Barham, Trade Marketing Manager, said: “Our distributors continue to request sustainable options of their favourite products, and following the initial launch of the Media Clic Bio, we’re pleased to now be able to offer the additional benefit of the antibacterial protection, giving our customers the best of both worlds.

“The newest version of the iconic Media Clic family meets the latest trends on the market, and with the digital print possibilities it allows unrivalled personalisation on a truly unique product.”

BGuard™ ballpens are made in Spain with fast production lead-times, and can be further customised with Mix & Match colour components with no additional impact on the cost or lead-time.

The range has been tested in accordance with the ISO 22196 test protocol with full product protection for the lifetime of the product.
