2 UK trade shows have been the first to use closed loop lanyard recycling to reduce their environmental impact. The initiative from Preseli Ltd is the result of over 2 years work behind the scenes developing the necessary processes.

 

“The outdoor industry has a long history of pioneering sustainability best practice, so we were delighted to launch this initiative with the SLIDE & OTS winter show and then bring the same to Merchandise World” says Preseli Marketing Manager Robert Bruce.

 

“Organisers can specify lanyards from a wide range of polyester and RPET styles knowing that they will be reused or reprocessed into new products. We have made marketing material and collection bin templates available to help organisers promote the initiative and hope that it will a core part of shows reducing their impact in the future.”

 

All material and components from the lanyards will be re-used or recycled into new products – with the bulk of that being done in the UK, keeping the carbon footprint of the project as low as possible.
