At the beginning of this month the Sourcing City Team embarked upon a mammoth challenge to individually walk an average of 10,000 steps every day for 31 days – and we are just over half-way there!

This is being done as part of the ‘Young Minds Out in the Open 310k Step Challenge’ throughout May. Young Minds is particularly in our thoughts at the moment, as they support struggling teenagers as they make their way through difficult times in life. We are doing this challenge in memory of Flo, a lovely, vibrant, talented and well-loved member of our team, who was tragically lost to many who loved her at the beginning of this year.

During our lunch breaks and after work, and over the weekends, the team have been collectively smashing their individual daily 10,000 steps goal, and there is determination to get to the finish, regardless of the blisters!

Thanks go to the customers and supplier partners who have already generously supported the Sourcing City Team so far. We have already hit our £500 target, but we are sure that the Young Minds charity would benefit greatly from any more that we can raise.

Charity Support

In addition to this charity challenge, the team at Sourcing City have decided to regularly to support a number of charities that may be less in the limelight, but no less deserving, for the critical work they do.

Each month throughout the year the Sourcing City team will donate £250 to each of three chosen charities. This month Young Minds, the North Guildford Food Bank and Depher have all been chosen, as they have all made an important impression on members of our team. Each of the charities do very different things, but all play a very important role for the community.

Every month the team will consider if we want to change any of the charities we support, and any charity close to any of us will be added.
