The organisers wish to express their grateful thanks to the generosity of the Suppliers and Distributors in the Promotional Gift Industry, who have dug deep into their pockets during difficult times, enabling this appeal to hit the target set of 5000 Goody Bags. These bags have been used at the NEC Birmingham Nightingale Hospital and the final deliveries will be made early next week to the Excel Nightingale London and Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The main London delivery will be handed out to nursing staff after their induction day before starting work on the main Covidvirus wards at the Excel and will also be given to nurses that require counselling after their shifts.
The donated bags have been filled with pledged items such as power banks, Bluetooth speakers, cables, phone stands, water bottles, insulated mugs, eye mask packs, face mask straps, sunglasses, seed sticks, scented candles, pens, notebooks, hand cream, lip balms, biscuits and chocolates. In addition, a Thank You card was inserted on behalf of our industry with a personal message with a link for nurses who might wish to express their thanks on various media platforms such as Instagram. It is currently early days to give feedback but we will update as and when received.
Midway through this appeal we received the tragic news from one of the main organisers, Matt Pluckrose, that he had suddenly lost his wife Nik. We are sure that you will join us in sending our best wishes and love to Matt and his family during this difficult time. The decision was taken this week to dedicate the appeal to the memory of Nik Pluckrose which we felt was a fitting gesture of support.
Thank you all once again for your support. We will make every effort to give a final report back to all of you from letters of thanks or comments received once collated. We wish each and every one of you involved in this campaign a speedy recovery for your businesses and hope the good times return soon. In the meantime stay safe and at home!
